🗺️ How to Save and Compare Heatmaps
Save snapshots of your coverage at different project stages and compare them side-by-side to visualize the impact of design changes.
How to Save and Compare Heatmaps
- Save your first heatmap
- Select your KPI (e.g., "Downlink RSRP") from the dropdown
- Click "Save Heatmap" button
- Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Downlink RSRP")
- Click Save
- Save additional heatmaps for comparison
- Switch to a different KPI (e.g., "Uplink RSRP")
- Click "Save Heatmap"
- Name it appropriately (e.g., "Uplink RSRP")
- Click Save
- Repeat for any KPIs you want to compare (SINR, Interference, etc.)
- Compare saved heatmaps
- Click the "Compare" tab
- Select the heatmaps you want to compare (check boxes)
- Both views will load side-by-side
- Navigate synchronized views
- Zoom and pan - both heatmaps move together
- Check the bottom-right corner for exact values at each point
- Values update as you hover over different areas
View Layout Options
- Side-by-side (Vertical): Best for comparing coverage patterns
- Horizontal (Top/Bottom): Good for presentations
- Single View: Quick switching between saved heatmaps
Access layout options using the view selector in the top menu.
Common Comparisons
- Downlink vs. Uplink RSRP: Identify asymmetric coverage issues
- Before vs. After optimization: Document improvement
- RSRP vs. SINR: Correlate signal strength with quality
- Different design iterations: Track changes over time
- Project milestones: Save progress at key stages
Tips
- Name heatmaps clearly with KPI and version info
- Save baseline coverage before making changes
- Use synchronized zoom to spot coverage differences
- Values in bottom-right show exact measurements for precise comparison
- No limit on number of saved heatmaps per project
Benefits
- Document optimization journey for clients
- Validate that changes improved coverage
- Quick A/B testing of different configurations
- Build a visual history of project evolution
