📶 How to Add and Configure Cellular Radios
Create detailed templates for 4G/5G radios with support for carrier aggregation, custom antenna sectors, MIMO settings, and full uplink/downlink control.
🛠️ Step 1: Add a Cellular Radio
-
Go to Hardware or press H
-
Click Add AP, then select:
-
Cellular (Indoor or Outdoor)
-
Choose Vendor and Model
-
📡 Step 2: Configure Carrier Settings
-
Click Carrier > Add Carrier
-
Set parameters such as:
-
Name, Band, Bandwidth, Subcarrier Spacing
-
Transmission Power
-
Uplink/Downlink Split
-
Modulation, MIMO
-
📐 Step 3: Create and Assign a Sector
-
Go to Sector > Add Sector
-
Choose antenna type (e.g., panel, omni)
-
Assign the carrier to this sector
-
Click Add to save this template
➕ Step 4: Enable Carrier Aggregation (Optional)
-
Add multiple carriers
-
Assign them to the same sector for aggregation
-
You'll see the combined setup reflected visually
🧭 Step 5: Add More Sectors and Configure Azimuth
-
Add a second sector to represent a new antenna
-
Assign a different carrier
-
Set Azimuth to control orientation
-
Physically separate sectors from base radio as needed
📈 Step 6: Control Uplink and Downlink Throughput
-
Throughput is based on carrier settings
-
Example: changing modulation or MIMO affects speeds
-
Adjust per-carrier to see the impact on performance
🎯 Step 7: Manual Channel and PCI Assignment
-
Manually set channel numbers (e.g., 3560) and PCI values
-
Click Update to apply them in real time
