🧱 How to Add and Edit Walls

Define wall materials, draw custom layouts, and batch-edit obstructions to model real-world indoor RF performance.

🚫 Step 1: Turn Off the Heatmap

  • Disabling it prevents unnecessary recalculations while drawing walls.

✏️ Step 2: Add a Wall Type

  1. Go to the Wall Tool (or press W).

  2. Click Add Wall Type:

    • Example: Concrete

    • Set thickness per foot and height

  3. Click Save — this creates a wall template

🧱 Step 3: Draw the Wall

  1. Select your wall type

  2. Click once to create an elbow (turning point)

  3. Double-click to finish the wall

  4. Repeat as needed with other materials (e.g., Drywall)

🖱️ Step 4: Adjust and Refine Walls

  • Click on the last point to remove it if needed

  • Press Esc once:

    • You're still in wall mode, but can now select/move/adjust walls

🔲 Step 5: Box-Select and Bulk Edit Walls

  • Drag-select walls

  • Edit based on:

    • Material

    • Height

    • Thickness

  • If selected walls have mixed types, you can still apply a uniform update

⚙️ Step 6: Use the Wall Menu

  • Use the 3-dot menu on any wall group

  • Apply new materials or thickness globally

🧭 Step 7: View in 3D

  • Switch to 3D View to visualize wall placement and height

✅ Step 8: Re-enable the Heatmap

  • Once drawing is complete, turn heatmap back on

  • The RF model is updated based on your newly placed walls
