📦 How to Add and Manage Obstructions
Model physical obstacles that impact signal propagation — including buildings, equipment, trees, and shelving — to get realistic RF performance predictions.
🔕 Step 1: Turn Off the Heatmap
-
This helps you:
-
Clearly see the background image
-
Avoid recalculating the heatmap with every change
-
🧱 Step 2: Open Obstruction Tool
-
Click on Obstruction Tool, or press O
-
Choose from:
-
Buildings
-
Trees
-
RVs
-
Equipment
-
Cars
-
⚙️ Step 3: Define Obstruction Properties
For each obstruction type (e.g., building):
-
Choose a Material
-
Review its attenuation
-
Define:
-
Wall, Floor, and Roof Thickness
-
Associated Attenuation
-
-
Set the Height and Frequency
-
eino.ai automatically calculates attenuation for other frequencies
-
✏️ Step 4: Draw Obstructions
You have two tools:
-
Rectangle Tool:
-
Click and drag to size and place
-
-
Scribe Tool:
-
Free-draw any shape
-
Hold Shift to snap
-
Close the polygon to complete
-
🪄 Step 5: Modify & Duplicate Obstructions
While in Obstruction Mode:
-
Select an obstruction
-
Use:
-
Ctrl+C to Copy
-
Ctrl+V to Paste
-
Drag to Move
-
Rotate to adjust orientation
-
🗄️ Step 6: Add Equipment Obstructions
-
Select Equipment (e.g., Metal Rack)
-
Set its Type and Height
-
Place it using the rectangle or scribe tool
📦 Step 7: Add Shelving (Special Behavior)
-
Choose Shelving
-
Set its:
-
Height (e.g., 24 ft)
-
Attenuation across its width
-
-
Only rectangle shapes are allowed (to maintain consistent width-to-attenuation mapping)
-
eino.ai automatically applies attenuation for other materials
🧭 Step 8: View in 3D
-
Switch to 3D View
-
You'll see:
-
Shelves, Buildings, Equipment, etc.
-
All with accurate heights and shapes
-
